A practical comparison

Breville Super Q, Q and Fresh & Furious: what changes?

Breville’s current US blender shelf presents three different countertop packages rather than a single model with a handful of cosmetic changes. The Super Q (BBL920) and Q (BBL820) share a 68-ounce jug and a maker-listed 1,800-watt motor, while the Fresh & Furious (BBL620) uses a 50-ounce jug and lists 1,100 watts. The more useful distinctions are what comes in the box, which controls are available, how each manual treats hot ingredients and whether a second cup is part of your routine.

Compare the exact product configurations

Start with the vessel you need

If a 64-ounce nominal container floor is essential, the 50-ounce Fresh & Furious falls short. Both larger models meet that nominal vessel threshold with their 68-ounce jugs, but neither treats the jug’s full listed volume as a hot-liquid allowance: their manuals cap hot liquids at 40 ounces and describe vented-lid precautions. A personal cup is another independent setup, not additional jug capacity. The Super Q includes a smaller cup; its manual limits the cup to up to 700 mL and enables only selected programs. It does not give the cup the jug’s Soup or Frozen Dessert presets, and the jug’s hot-liquid instructions should not be transferred to the cup.

Ask whether the extra cup would regularly save you time or whether it would become another vessel to clean and store. If you want one large pitcher and no extra cup, the Q is the direct comparison. If your usual jobs fit a 50-ounce jug and do not involve hot ingredients, Fresh & Furious offers a different physical scale and simpler named recipe menu.

Then choose the controls—not just a program count

Super Q has the broadest manual speed range of the trio at twelve settings, plus five recipe-category presets for the jug. The Q lists five speeds and four presets: Pulse/Ice Crush, Smoothie, Green Smoothie and Soup. The Fresh & Furious lists five speeds and three recipe presets: Smoothie, Green Smoothie and Ice Crush. Each also has a named cleaning function. Count a cleaning cycle as an ownership convenience, not a recipe result or an extra smoothie mode.

For someone who regularly switches between a thick mixture and a pourable drink, the larger manual range may be worth weighing; that is a feature comparison, not a promise that one unit will produce a better texture. If you value a few one-touch choices more than a large speed menu, compare the actual named options against the food you prepare. Both the Q and Super Q include a Soup preset, but their instructions specify room-temperature ingredients for the cold-to-hot program. Fresh & Furious’s page mentions soups as an application; its manual still says to cool hot or boiling ingredients before loading.

Consider size, upkeep and warranty as one decision

The Q and Super Q are each listed at 18 inches high. The Q is published at 12.61 pounds; the Super Q is listed at 15.48 pounds. Fresh & Furious is 17.7 inches high and listed at 8.82 pounds, with a narrower 6.9-inch stated width. Measure the cabinet opening and the space needed to lift off a jug rather than assuming that the heaviest-looking image or a motor rating tells you how a machine will fit.

The three manufacturer pages list machine warranty periods of ten years for Super Q, seven for the Q and three for Fresh & Furious. Read each warranty’s US terms for coverage and exclusions; a duration is not a measure of lifespan or an independent reliability score. The larger models also list a dishwasher-safe main jug; Fresh & Furious specifies a dishwasher-safe jug and a top-rack-only lid. Every model still needs careful blade handling, a dry motor base and the prescribed water-and-detergent cleaning steps.

How to shortlist

Choose Super Q if its cup, twelve manual speeds, five jug presets and noise-suppression technology claim are all relevant; the product page does not supply a decibel measurement or an enclosing cover. Choose the Q if you need the 68-ounce jug, five-speed control and four named recipe presets but have no use for the personal cup. Choose Fresh & Furious if a 50-ounce jar, five speeds and three presets fit and you can keep hot ingredients out of its jug. Do not let a shared 1,800-watt rating or the phrase “commercial grade” settle the choice; those do not replace instructions, container limits or a specific recipe assessment.

One final check: these model names have finish variants, and the BBL620 page in particular retains both newer and older color codes. Use the complete model number on the carton or manufacturer listing to verify which finish and package you are considering. The exact BBL920, BBL820 and BBL620 assessments above keep the individual configuration and its limitations separate.

Put the batch, controls and care routine together.
