A useful fit for

For a household whose usual cold batches fit a 50-ounce jug and values five manual speeds, a timer, three smoothie/ice presets and a compact listed width.

The main tradeoff

The nominal 50-ounce jug does not meet a 64-ounce minimum, the listed package has no personal cup, and the manual prohibits hot or boiling ingredients. Its listed three-year limited warranty is shorter than the Q and Super Q terms.

Breville’s Fresh & Furious is a household countertop blender built around a 50-ounce (1.5-liter) BPA-free Eastman Tritan jug, five manual speed settings, a timer, and three named recipe presets. The current US product family is BBL620; the reviewed silver finish is BBL620SIL1AUS1. Among the three current Breville blenders covered here, this is the smallest main jug and the one with the most compact listed width. It is also the only one whose instruction book tells you not to process hot or boiling liquids.

What the nine task controls mean in practice

Breville describes nine task controls and a timer. The three illuminated recipe presets are Smoothie, Green Smoothie and Ice Crush; the other controls cover manual tasks such as Mix, Chop, Blend, Puree and Liquify, with five electronic speed levels from Mix through Mill. A separate Auto Clean control handles the jug and blade cleaning routine. Do not turn that panel into a claim of nine automatic blending programs: the product page identifies three named one-touch recipe programs, a separate timer and a broader group of task/speed buttons.

The jug’s 50-ounce nominal capacity clears a 48-ounce minimum but not a 64-ounce family-size threshold. That can be a sensible fit when your usual batches do not need a larger pitcher, especially if cabinet width matters: Breville lists 6.9 by 8.3 by 17.7 inches and a weight of 8.82 pounds. Compare your actual counter and storage route, not just the face of the motor base. The matching product image shows a tall jug over a narrow base, but it should not be mistaken for a measurement diagram or a test photograph.

Warm and hot ingredients need care

The manual says not to process hot or boiling liquids and instructs the user to let them cool before placing them in the jug. It also cautions against extremes of hot and cold with the Tritan container. Although the product page mentions soups among possible blended preparations, that general use description does not overrule the model-specific manual’s temperature warning. If soup is your regular job, plan to cool ingredients before blending and heat the finished mixture separately; do not choose the Fresh & Furious for a required hot-liquid operation.

The instructions also put limits on long or heavy runs: do not process a heavy load continuously for more than ten seconds, and do not run ordinary blending tasks longer than sixty seconds at a time without stopping and stirring. If overload protection trips, unplug the unit and let the motor cool for thirty minutes. Those directions are more useful than treating the 1,100-watt product-page rating as a shorthand for how long a dense load should run.

Cleaning and package boundaries

The jug and lid are the listed accessories; there is no personal blending cup in this package. The manual says the jug is dishwasher-safe and the lid is top-rack safe. Its Auto Clean routine uses water and a small amount of dish detergent to loosen residue from the jug and blades, followed by rinsing. Keep the base and power cord away from water, unplug before cleaning and handle the blade carefully. An optional Vac Q is compatible with the latest version according to Breville, but it is an additional accessory, not part of every BBL620 carton. Check the exact offer if vacuum blending is central to your purchase.

How its controls compare with the Q and Super Q

Fresh & Furious has three recipe presets and five speeds. The Q moves up to a 68-ounce jug, four recipe presets, five speeds and a documented 40-ounce hot-liquid allowance, along with a seven-year limited warranty. The Super Q also has a 68-ounce jug and twelve speeds; its five jug programs include a frozen-dessert option, and its box adds a separate 24-ounce personal cup with a compatible blade system. Both larger models have a maker-listed 1,800-watt rating and ten- or seven-year limited machine warranties, but neither number is an independent performance result.

Fresh & Furious has a shorter three-year limited warranty, yet may make more sense if you want the narrower listed footprint, a timer, three straightforward automatic recipes and a smaller jug rather than extra vessels or a larger base. The silver SKU is one of ten exact finish offers visible in the BBL620 product data; the product pages identify additional colors such as Black Truffle, Sea Salt, Damson Blue and Olive Tapenade, plus older or currently unavailable finishes. Color names alone do not establish an altered motor or different controls, so they remain variants of this review unless Breville documents a package change.

Choose this model when five speed settings, the three named programs, a 50-ounce nominal jug and cold-ingredient operation fit your routine. Choose the Q instead if a 68-ounce jug or documented hot-liquid handling is an essential condition. Choose the Super Q if you specifically need a personal cup in the box, more manual speed settings or a frozen-dessert preset. This is a source-based assessment of the listed machine, manual and package—not a claim of firsthand ownership, measured noise, or tested texture.

Choose around the way you blend.

Start with format and batch, then check manual controls, named programs, exact jar package, clearance and cleanup. In the Propel 510/750 family, a second jar is a separate setup—not extra capacity in one blend—and the Classic Bundle has a distinct hand-wash jar. In the nutribullet Ultra family, the standard NB50500IN has no processor, NB20550ID adds a separate two-cup processor, and only NB50550AKID includes the coffee/spice grinder. In nutribullet portable choices, the NBPB50100 keeps its base attached, Flex separates its base and blade, and Flip uses an insulated steel cup with a 16-ounce MAX line. Flex x McLaren’s exact page conflicts on 20 versus 22 ounces; that unknown should not meet a capacity requirement. The nutribullet Personal Blender NB50150-02 is the 700W refresh with a 21-ounce handled tumbler and a separate 24-ounce cup; use its 55-second plan and exact compatibility note rather than assuming old 600W parts fit. The current nutribullet Pro+ N12-1001MK pairs a separate 24-ounce and 32-ounce cup with a one-minute Blend cycle and manual Pulse; nominal cup labels do not replace the marked MAX line. The exact nutribullet Power Core XL Matte White NBF70100AW-02 lists a 72-ounce pitcher, 64-ounce maximum-liquid line and a maker-suggested minimum 16-ounce batch; its guide supports hot ingredients only in the vented pitcher and expressly says not to crush ice. The nutribullet Lite NBI50200 is a two-speed immersion set with a 30-ounce cup label but a 350 ml manual MAX mark; direct hot-pot blending does not specify a maximum pot or hot volume. The current McLaren Pro NB9-0901MC lists separate 32- and 24-ounce cups but showed out of stock; the discontinued Matte Eucalyptus SKU lists two separate 32-ounce cups. Oster MyBlend Plus SAP 2126144 is one cold-only sport-bottle setup; Easy-to-Clean SAP 2181510 keeps its glass pitcher and separate 20-ounce cup in different plans, and unknown cup instructions stay unknown. Oster MyBlend Plus SAP 2126144 is one cold-only sport-bottle setup; Easy-to-Clean SAP 2181510 keeps its glass pitcher and separate 20-ounce cup in different plans, and unknown cup instructions stay unknown. The Hamilton Beach Smoothie Blender 50181FG/FJ, 50182FG/FJ and 50183F/FJ family has one 48-ounce BPA-free jar, while its directly linked guide names 50180 rather than those exact codes; check the supplied manual before planning a hot batch.
