A three-model comparison

Which Explorian package suits your household?

The E520 package often looks like a straightforward upgrade because it combines a large jar, three programs and two tumblers. That description is useful only if those extra functions match what you want. Treat the tumblers, jar and any optional personal blending cup as different pieces of equipment.

What is inside the E520 package

The current US product page lists a motor base, a low-profile 64-ounce container, matching tamper, two 24-ounce Chilly Tumblers and straws. The tumbler is for carrying a drink; it is not a blending jar with a blade assembly. The 64-ounce container is the supplied blending vessel. An optional compatible 20-ounce personal blending cup requires a Personal Cup Adapter and is a separate setup, not a consequence of buying the tumblers.

What the tumblers are useful for

They may be convenient when you make one batch in the jar and want separate cups for two people. Their presence does not make the machine a single-serve blending system, and they do not change its blending capacity. If you do not want extra drinkware, compare the E320: it also has a low-profile 64-ounce jar and manual variable-speed controls but does not list the E520's three programs in its new package.

When to select another Explorian

Choose E310 if its 48-ounce jar better matches the batch you routinely make and manual speed/Pulse are enough. Select new E320 for the 64-ounce jar and manual control without E520's programs or tumblers. Choose E520 if its additional Smoothies, Hot Soup and Frozen Desserts cycles are useful and you welcome the separate drinkware. If reconditioned condition is acceptable, the certified-reconditioned E320 offers a 64-ounce manual arrangement with its own three-year published machine warranty; it is not the same offer as a new E320.

Check the exact listing before checkout

Vitamix may offer different packages or finishes over time. A listing image alone cannot establish included parts, and seller titles can be abbreviated. Verify the model, box contents, jar, accessories and written warranty in the actual listing. The E520 page lists a seven-year full warranty; the new E320 page says seven-year limited while its manual says seven-year full machine warranty. For a close counter fit, verify dimensions as well: maker page and manual figures conflict for some of these models.

Read the full E520 package assessment, compare with the new E320 or E310, and see container compatibility and care before adding accessories.
