A useful fit for

A good fit for single-serve drinks when two dedicated cup vessels and a separate small thick-mixture bowl are more useful than a large pitcher.

The main tradeoff

The largest included blending cup is 24 ounces and the Power Nutri bowl is 14 ounces; there is no full-size pitcher or food-processor bowl. The guide prohibits hot liquids, dry blending and grinding. The bowl paddle is fixed and must be twisted by hand for thick mixes.

Do you specifically want a 14-ounce Power Nutri bowl with a hand-turned paddle for spoonable blends?

The exact SS101 package includes a separate 14-ounce bowl; the guide says to turn its fixed paddle continuously and use Bowl/Spread for spoonable jobs.

Would a main 48-ounce container be essential for your usual batch?

SS101's largest nominal vessel is one 24-ounce cup; its 14-ounce bowl and second cup are separate vessels, not a larger shared 'pitcher.

The Ninja Foodi Smoothie Blender with Cups, model SS101, is a compact countertop system for individual drinks and spoonable bowl recipes—not a substitute for a large pitcher blender. Its package is unusual in a useful way: two separate 24-ounce Power Nutri cups are for drinkable blends, while a separate 14-ounce Power Nutri bowl uses a built-in paddle for thick mixtures. Those are three distinct vessels, not a 62-ounce combined batch. The exact US offer lists a one-year limited warranty, four Auto-iQ programs, and two manual controls.

Choose the vessel before choosing the program

The two 24-ounce cups make the SS101 a reasonable fit for someone who blends a serving, removes the blade assembly and changes to a spout lid for carrying or storage. The 24-ounce label is the cup's nominal size, not a promise that you can fill it to the rim; the manual directs users to stay below its marked maximum-liquid line. Each cup is a separate setup on the same motor base. The second cup is handy when another serving is needed, but it does not let the machine blend two drinks at once.

For thicker food, the 14-ounce Power Nutri bowl has a different job. Its integrated paddle is turned by hand while the blade runs, pushing ingredients down toward the blades. That makes the mechanism more useful for spoonable smoothie bowls, spreads and nut-butter recipes than a plain screw-on cup. The paddle is not removable, which affects cleanup. Follow the bowl's liquid and ingredient fill markings rather than treating 14 ounces as an approved working fill. The separate manual recommends the Bowl and Spread programs with this vessel.

Four presets, two manual controls

The exact product page names Smoothie, Extract, Bowl and Spread as the four Auto-iQ programs. The guide describes Smoothie and Extract as drinkable choices for the Power Nutri cup and recommends Bowl and Spread for spoonable results in the Power Nutri bowl. Start/Stop and Pulse are the two manual options; Start/Stop runs continuously for up to 60 seconds, while Pulse runs only while pressed. These controls are not variable speed settings. A preset's presence is not a promise of a particular texture or duration, and the manuals' operating groups matter: do not combine a bowl-only need with cup capacity as if both were one arrangement.

SharkNinja lists 1,100 watts at 120 volts in the US manual and a separate 1,200-peak-watt claim on the offer page. Peak watts are a marketing specification, not an independent measure of blending output. The stainless-looking finish is called silver; that does not establish the base's material.

Important limits and routine care

The SS101-series guide says not to blend hot liquids, not to perform grinding operations and not to process dry ingredients without liquid. It also warns against overfilling, microwaving the supplied vessels, and leaving the sharp blade assembly attached for storage. Those limits rule it out if you need dry spice grinding or a documented hot-soup blender. If either is essential, a model with explicit permission for that task is a safer choice than guessing.

For cleanup, the guide says the BPA-free attachments are top-rack dishwasher-safe; remove the lid and blade assembly before loading them. Hand-washing is possible with warm, soapy water and a long-handled utensil, keeping fingers away from the sharp blade edges. The bowl's paddle stays in place. To loosen stuck-on bowl food, the guide describes a small soap-and-warm-water rinse cycle using Bowl while turning the paddle; this is not a reason to run a dry bowl or exceed its lines. Unplug and wipe the motor base with a damp cloth rather than immersing it.

Who should compare something else?

If a single 24-ounce drinkable cup is enough and you also want a tampered pitcher, the Ninja Twisti SS151 includes a 34-ounce pitcher plus separate 18- and 24-ounce cups. Its pitcher has a built-in Twist Tamper and drizzle cap, but it has a smaller main vessel than the 48- or 64-ounce countertop packages some households need. For a substantially larger pitcher while keeping two personal cups, the Ninja Detect TB301 has a 72-ounce pitcher with a stated 64-ounce maximum liquid capacity plus two 24-ounce cups. Its control system differs and it does not replace the SS101's 14-ounce Power Nutri bowl with a twisting paddle.

On the questionnaire, choosing a 24-ounce cup points toward SS101; choosing two or more such cups is also satisfied by its two-cup package, one at a time. A requirement for a 48- or 64-ounce main vessel should point away from the 14-ounce bowl and 24-ounce cups. Choosing spoonable bowl modes should keep the answer tied to the 14-ounce paddle bowl, not the drink cup. If heat or dry grinding is essential, this exact model should not be treated as a match. The SS101 is most compelling when the routine is one or two personal drinks plus an occasional thick bowl, and the owner is comfortable with a separate vessel and a little manual twisting for the latter.

Choose around the way you blend.

Start with format and batch, then check manual controls, named programs, exact jar package, clearance and cleanup. In the Propel 510/750 family, a second jar is a separate setup—not extra capacity in one blend—and the Classic Bundle has a distinct hand-wash jar. In the nutribullet Ultra family, the standard NB50500IN has no processor, NB20550ID adds a separate two-cup processor, and only NB50550AKID includes the coffee/spice grinder. In nutribullet portable choices, the NBPB50100 keeps its base attached, Flex separates its base and blade, and Flip uses an insulated steel cup with a 16-ounce MAX line. Flex x McLaren’s exact page conflicts on 20 versus 22 ounces; that unknown should not meet a capacity requirement. The nutribullet Personal Blender NB50150-02 is the 700W refresh with a 21-ounce handled tumbler and a separate 24-ounce cup; use its 55-second plan and exact compatibility note rather than assuming old 600W parts fit. The current nutribullet Pro+ N12-1001MK pairs a separate 24-ounce and 32-ounce cup with a one-minute Blend cycle and manual Pulse; nominal cup labels do not replace the marked MAX line. The exact nutribullet Power Core XL Matte White NBF70100AW-02 lists a 72-ounce pitcher, 64-ounce maximum-liquid line and a maker-suggested minimum 16-ounce batch; its guide supports hot ingredients only in the vented pitcher and expressly says not to crush ice. The nutribullet Lite NBI50200 is a two-speed immersion set with a 30-ounce cup label but a 350 ml manual MAX mark; direct hot-pot blending does not specify a maximum pot or hot volume. The current McLaren Pro NB9-0901MC lists separate 32- and 24-ounce cups but showed out of stock; the discontinued Matte Eucalyptus SKU lists two separate 32-ounce cups. Oster MyBlend Plus SAP 2126144 is one cold-only sport-bottle setup; Easy-to-Clean SAP 2181510 keeps its glass pitcher and separate 20-ounce cup in different plans, and unknown cup instructions stay unknown. The Hamilton Beach Smoothie Blender 50181FG/FJ, 50182FG/FJ and 50183F/FJ family has one 48-ounce BPA-free jar, while its directly linked guide names 50180 rather than those exact codes; check the supplied manual before planning a hot batch.
